M, A,Yah

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

As an author who has also mastered the imagination in children's books, I believe in the magic of storytelling—the kind that makes kids giggle, and adults think deeply, and dream big. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or reader of any age, my books are crafted to spark imagination, encourage curiosity, and open doors to conversations that matter.

Each book is more than just a story—it’s a tool for learning, growing, and connecting. My books are designed to:

  • Inspire confidence and kindness

  • Celebrate diversity and curiosity

  • Start conversations between children and caregivers

  • Make reading joyful and meaningful

ABOUT  M,A,YAH

Known as The Master-of-Imagination, M,A,Yah is the most prolific children's book author in the history of Nebraska, with over 25 published titles and counting. He is also the Executive Director of The Heartland News, a newspaper founded in Omaha, Nebraska. M,A,Yah was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  He was functionally illiterate until the age of 25, when he began his journey of self-education while incarcerated in Ramsey County Jail, which led to the completion of his secondary education. He used that time to teach himself how to read and write, beginning with The Keeping Quilt by Patricia Polacco—a children’s book that would spark a lifelong love of literature and storytelling. As a public speaker, M,A,Yah now travels to share his story of late literacy and redemption—testifying that it’s never too late to learn, grow, or follow your dreams. Writing children’s books is both his calling and his safe haven, ranking third in the Mid-West. But his story doesn’t stop at children's books. Writing across genres, he also pens novels, screenplays, fiction and nonfiction works. His boldest goal? To publish over 170 children's books by his birthday on June 27, 2026, claim the top spot in the Midwest, and launch his autobiography, I Just Want to Eat Junk Food with My Dad.

The most prolific children's author in the history of Nebraska!

TESTIMONIALS

M,A,Yah's creations are truly magical. His voice touches the soul, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who reads his books.

Devon H. - New York, NY

"I couldn’t believe it when I found out this is the first and only children’s book ever written about Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford. My son is a huge boxing fan, and this book became his favorite bedtime story. The fact that the author also renamed a street after Terence back in 2018 makes it even more special. We already preordered the rest of the Street Smart Series!"

Alicia T. - Atlanta, GA

"The Vicious Vikings” book isn’t just funny—it’s creative and smart. We read it before bed, and my son laughs so hard he can’t sleep right away. We can’t wait to add Green Bay to the collection!"

Elena F. - San Diego, CA

"He’s officially the most prolific children’s author in Nebraska history. There’s no one like him. From ‘Obama the Panda Bear’ to ‘The Vicious Vikings’ to ‘Bud Crawford’ to the sweet Omaha series—he’s truly the Master-Of-Imagination."

Latasha R. - Washington, DC

"I bought ALL THREE ‘Obama the Panda Bear’ books, and I loved every page. The mix of fun and history is genius. I even ordered extra for my niece and nephew in Chicago. If there’s a fourth one coming, I’m preordering it today!"

Vanessa P. - Los Angeles, CA

"The Terence Crawford book is amazing, and knowing it’s Book #1 of the Street Smart Series makes it even cooler. This series is genius—children’s books about every person in Omaha who has a street named after them? Brilliant! My kids have already learned more about Omaha heroes than any school history book has ever taught them."

Derrick L. - Minneapolis, MN

"The Vicious Vikings book is a blast! My daughter begged me to read it every night for a week straight. We’re already hyped for the next one —she’s even drawing Viking helmets in anticipation! 😄"
